A busy time of year...
who isn't busy at this time of year? I have been spending the last couple of months honing the recipes for my new range of Mustards which will soon be available. More of that and some winter warmers soon!
When I was first asked to consider working on a blog that would outline recipes that I love, the first thing I thought about was my Grandmother. I come from a family that cooked. My grandparents on my Moms side, my Dads Mother, and both my Mom and Dad. I loved watching, asking questions and then trying it out for myself, often with success and sometimes not. So, within the pages that follow are my lessons of triumph and failure, stories about what my family has taught me and a compilation of recipes for my daughters so that they can continue to make the foods that they have grown up loving.
I have worked for over 25 year in the restaurant industry in the states and have been responsible for developing menu’s and concepts for some well known US businesses. I was part of the team that put together Texas Embassy Cantina in London on Cockspur Street. For the last 6 years I have concentrated on Event design and taken a break from working with food. I’m now based in Ludlow, Shropshire UK and have a lifestyle florist/gallery/shop with my partner.
Food is my passion, has been since I was knee high and it is the one thing that is guaranteed to cheer me up on the dullest day!
